Huawei MateBook X Pro 2024: Lightweight MacBook Air competitor with Intel Core Ultra 9 and 3.2K OLED

Huawei has unveiled the MateBook X Pro 2024, a new competitor to the MacBook Air. The thin and ultra-light laptop weighs only 980 g and is equipped with a 3.2K OLED touchscreen and an ultra-fast processor up to Intel Core Ultra 9 185H.

Huawei presented its new flagship laptop Huawei MateBook X Pro 2024 in China today. The successor to the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2023 (1,799 euros at Huawei) is once again positioning itself as a challenger to the MacBook Air and comes with several new features.

High-resolution OLED, powerful CPUs, and lots of AI

Depending on the configuration, the new Huawei MateBook X Pro 2024 is equipped with the brand-new and powerful Intel Core Ultra 9 185H with 40 W or the Ultra 7 155H processor. The CPUs are known to have all kinds of AI features and are combined by Huawei with the Pangu AI model for additional AI functions. Depending on the variant, the manufacturer also installs 16 or 32 GB of RAM and 1 or 2 TB of SSD storage space.

Like its predecessor, the new MateBook X Pro 2024 also features a 14.2-inch OLED touch display with an aspect ratio of 3:2, a resolution of 3,120 x 2,080 pixels, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. In addition to a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, the panel also boasts particularly accurate color reproduction with Delta E < 1.

The lithium-polymer battery of the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2024 measures 70 Wh and supports fast charging with 140W of power. In addition to a 1080p camera, the stylish premium laptop also features Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and one USB-C port. All of this is packed into a particularly light 980 g and 13.5-mm thin casing.

Price and availability of the Huawei MateBook X Pro 2024

The new Huawei MateBook X Pro 2024 officially goes on sale in China on April 18. The price starts at 11,199 yuan, which is the equivalent of around 1,440 euros. It is not yet known when the new premium laptop from Huawei will be officially available on the global market and therefore also in Europe.
