Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 users in United States, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Italy, and Germany can now generate AI images within Paint using their new tool, Cocreator.

Microsoft has incorporated its AI image generator, Cocreator, into the Paint application for Windows 11. Previously exclusive to Windows Insiders, this tool employs OpenAI's DALL-E 3 model for image creation.

The tool is now available to users in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Italy, and Germany. There is currently a waitlist for using the Cocreator feature. If you are interested in using the tool, you can join the waitlist via the Cocreator side panel. After registering your interest, you will receive an email notification once you are approved to utilize the feature.

To utilize Cocreator, users open Paint and click the dedicated button situated in the top-right corner, positioned between the color picker and layers section. A window prompts users to input a description of the desired image and select a style (Charcoal, In Sketch, Watercolor, Photorealistic, etc.). The tool generates three images, which users can further edit using other tools within Paint.

Although this image generator is a new addition to Paint, Microsoft has already incorporated this capability into other services. For example, users have been able to enter image generation requests into Bing's chatbot for some time, and that functionality was recently integrated into Copilot.

Incorporating Cocreator into Paint (the image editing app bundled with the Windows OS) makes it easier for average users to create AI-generated images.

Microsoft Paint is an easy tool to generate and edit images on Windows 11, even when using a mid-range laptop. The Acer Swift Go 14" (Intel Core i7-1355U, Intel Iris Xe, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) is currently on sale on Amazon for US$649.99, saving you 28%.
