A previous leak shed light on AMD's two new X3D CPUs on the AM4 platform: the Ryzen 5 5500X3D and Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Now, another Weibo leaker, ECSM_official, says AMD plans to release both models separately. Only the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D will be launched in Q1 2024, with no word about when the more affordable Ryzen 5 5500X3D will hit shelves.
The AMD Ryzen 5 5700X3D will be joined by some Ryzen 8000G series APUs, such as the Ryzen 7 8700G, Ryzen 5 8600G and Ryzen 5 8500G. There are some Zen 3-based non-X3D parts as well, namely the Ryzen 5 5600GT and Ryzen 5 5500GT. They could launch as over (or under) clocked variants of the already popular Ryzen 5 5600G (US$122 on Amazon).
In essence, AMD's Q1 portfolio consists of three Zen 3 and three Zen 4 SKUs, most of which are targeted towards budget-oriented audiences looking to build a PC without a dedicated graphics card. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D, if priced right, could decimate Intel's (and potentially AMD's) entire mid-range lineup.
The AM5 platform's inherent instability makes AM4-based CPUs such as the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 5 5500X3D solid contenders for low-cost, high-performing PCs, especially when combined with a graphics card like the GeForce RTX 4060.
