Huawei P70 Pro: Leaks indicate peculiar design, powerful cameras and imminent launch
The photos embedded below were recently published on Chinese social network Weibo and supposedly show the design of the Huawei P70 Pro and the Huawei P70 Art Edition. The teaser image points to an announcement on Tuesday, April 2. As these images come from unknown sources in China, readers should take them with a grain of salt.
The design with the unusual, triangular camera module has already been indicated by several sources, so there are currently many clues that Huawei's next-generation camera flagship will have three cameras arranged in the shape of a play button. Unsurprisingly, the Art Edition once again features an eye-catching pattern on the back, which may well score points in the new model thanks to innovative materials or manufacturing processes.

The leaked data sheets should still be viewed with a healthy dose of skepticism, as the specs here cannot yet be verified. According to the latest rumors, all four models come with a HiSilicon Kirin 9000S, a 3000 nits bright LTPO OLED display, a 13 MP selfie camera with 1/2.36 inch sensor and a battery with 88 watts of wired fast charging, while wireless fast charging is limited to 50 watts for the base model and 80 watts for the three more expensive models.
The highlight of the Huawei P series is traditionally the camera system, and the P70 is no exception. The Huawei P70 Pro+ and the Huawei P70 Art Edition are said to have a 50 MP main camera with a Sony IMX989 in 1 inch format, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with Sony IMX858 in 1/2.55 inch format and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera with the same sensor, 4x zoom and a macro function.
