Vivo V40 SE released with 1,800 nit AMOLED display and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset as new 5G mid-range smartphone
Almost a month has passed since Vivo listed the V40 SE on its global and Austrian websites. For reference, the mid-range handset debuted on the same day that Vivo showcased the Pad3 Pro, X Fold3 and X Fold3 Pro in China, which have not yet received a global release. Subsequently, Vivo confirmed that the V40 SE would soon reach Europe, although it did not outline when.
However, third-party retailers have started stocking the V40 SE across Austria and Germany. So far, Alza and MediaMarkt are selling the handset, with the former charging €279.99 in Germany and the latter charging €299.99 in Austria. As expected, the V40 SE is only available with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, which can be expanded with up to 1 TB MicroSD cards.
Additionally, the V40 SE has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that outputs at 1080p, 120 Hz and 1,800 nits with 1,200 nits full panel brightness. Moreover, Vivo includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 flash storage and a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 44 W wired charging. On top of that, the V40 SE combines a 50 MP primary camera with 16 MP front-facing, 8 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP auxiliary cameras. Please see Vivo's product page for more hardware details.
