OnePlus Pad 2 to arrive as premium tablet for the global market
OnePlus unveiled its first-ever tablet back in February last year. It appears the company has a direct successor in the works, with word of the OnePlus Pad 2 now surfacing online.
As revealed by leaker Max Jambor, the OnePlus Pad 2 is set to be powered by Qualcomm's flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That's a notable change from the first-gen model which featured the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. At the time of the OnePlus Pad's release, the Dimensity 9000 was already two generations behind. This time out, though, OnePlus will opt for a current-gen flagship option.
Reportedly, the OnePlus Pad 2 will launch in the second half of the year. We'd expect that to be sometime in Q3 and should see the OnePlus Pad 2 debut as one of the few premium Android tablets on the market—with Samsung's Galaxy Tab S10 lineup unlikely to launch till early next year, alongside the Galaxy S25 series. Seeing as the OnePlus Pad (buy on Amazon) was a rebadged OPPO Pad 2, it can be expected that the OnePlus Pad 2 will be an OPPO Pad 3 beneath its hide.
