Xiaomi POCO Pad confirmed to be Redmi Pad Pro twin before global release
More signs that Xiaomi has developed its first POCO-branded tablet have surfaced online. Previously, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) published a certification for '2405CPCFBG', which it reported was a tablet produced by POCO and Xiaomi. Subsequently, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) revealed that 2405CPCFBG would be compatible for what Xiaomi certified as the POCO Stylus.
Now, the FCC has listed documentation for 2405CPCFBG on its public database, as has Camera FV-5. Ultimately, neither refers to 2405CPCFBG by its marketing name. However, the model number has already been linked to the name 'POCO Pad', details of which we have covered separately. Additionally, the FCC confirms that the POCO Pad and '2405CRPFDL' are 'electrically identical'. Again, despite not disclosing the marketing name of 2405CRPFDL, the model number matches with the Chinese version of the Redmi Pad Pro.
To that end, Camera FV-5 reports that the POCO Pad contains 8 MP front-facing and rear-facing cameras, underlying the notion that it and the Redmi Pad Pro are the same device under the hood. As such, the POCO Pad should launch globally with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, plus a 10,000 mAh battery and a 1600p display, among other features. Incidentally, it seems that Xiaomi intends to sell the Redmi Pad Pro globally, too. Please see our Redmi Pad Pro launch article for more hardware details.
