New Xiaomi Redmi Pad Pro released with low starting price and 2.5K display
Xiaomi has released a new tablet in China, a few months after the global introduction of the Pad 6S Pro 12.4 globally. As expected, the company has followed up its flagship tablet with the Redmi Pad Pro, which combines a 12.1-inch display with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset and a 10,000 mAh battery. According to Xiaomi, the chipset alone allows the Redmi Pad Pro to achieve 51% CPU and 100% GPU improvements compared to the older MediaTek Helio G99-powered Redmi Pad.
Similarly, the 12.1-inch panel gives the Redmi Pad Pro a 33% larger display area than the Redmi Pad. On top of that, the Redmi Pad Pro offers a 2.5K native resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness, up from 400 nits on the Redmi Pad. Moreover, Xiaomi claims that the Redmi Pad Pro's display is S++ TÜV Rheinland-certified and offers 5 ms response times when connected to its optional stylus.
The Redmi Pad Pro will start at CNY 1,499 (~$207) when it goes on sale early next week. Incidentally, Xiaomi has also introduced a Harry Potter Edition, details of which we have covered separately. General sales for the Redmi Pad Pro will begin on April 15 with the following SKUs:
- 6 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage - CNY 1,499 (~$207)
- 8 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage - CNY 1,599 (~$221)
- 8 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage - CNY 1,799 (~$249)
