Samsung’s latest affordable Galaxy Tab hits the US with $100 promo offer
Samsung has finally released the 2024 refresh of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite in the US. To fill you in, the affordable Android tablet previously made its appearance on the official Romanian website. Then, it was formally launched in the UK and Europe. Now, it has officially rolled out in the US.
As we covered earlier, this is the 2nd refresh of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. The Android tablet was first launched in 2020, and it was once refreshed in 2022. For the 2024 refresh, Samsung opted for a mid-range chipset, the Exynos 1280. It’s a fairly dated CPU with eight cores and eight threads, but it’s still an upgrade from the previous versions of the tab.
The SoC is paired with 4 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. Here, the fact that the 2024 Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is capped at 4 GB of RAM is a bummer. After all, even the Galaxy Tab A9+, a much cheaper option, offers an option with 8 GB memory (curr. $219.99 on Amazon).
It seems Samsung knew about this, which is why the tablet is being bundled with a free $100 Amazon gift card. With that, the 64 GB config of the new Galaxy Tab S6 Lite becomes much more attractive at $329.99. You also get a free gift card with the 128 GB variant, which has a current retail price of $399.99 on Amazon.
Note that both variants of the Android tablet are WiFi models. Samsung did launch an LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite in the EU, but it seems that the US only gets the WiFi variants for now.
Other highlights of the tablet include One UI 6.1 out of the box, an AKG-tuned speaker setup, support for Dolby Atmos, an 8 MP camera on the back, a 5 MP camera on the front, an SD card slot, and an S Pen. You can learn more from the video and spec sheet attached below.
