OnePlus Nord N40 tipped to launch as next-gen budget 5G smartphone

The fourth-gen OnePlus Nord series is now live, although the OEM has released only 1 of the 3 members predicted for it thus far. The CE 4 is believed to end up as a middle child between the flagship 4 and its own Lite version.

Word of the latter has finally started to crop up on the leaks circuit. The Nord CE 3 Lite had the Snapdragon 695 processor; however, its successor is now said to move on to the 6 Gen 1.

It could join its $299.99 forebear on Amazon.com as the Nord N40, whereas the 'main' Nord 4 might remain exclusive to other markets such as Europe and India.

It is projected to land there as a re-brand of China's Ace 3V, and, as such, perhaps to be the first Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3-powered smartphone in its target regions.

Should that be the case, the Nord 4 might also debut a 50MP main camera with a new ring flash, a 1.5K AMOLED display and an enlarged, 12R-grade battery, all wrapped in OnePlus' latest design language, later in 2024.
