The Galaxy F55 has broken cover again prior to its allegedly imminent launch. This time, it is depicted as a version of a smartphone already available in India, albeit one with a rear panel finished in vegan leather rather than glass. It also seems to have what seems to be Samsung's favorite new Qualcomm SoC for the mid-range market.

Some Galaxy M55 owners might have cause for some buyer's remorse soon, as a version of the same device with a more novel choice of rear panel is allegedly on the way.

It might be the subject of a slightly cryptic new Evan Blass tweet reading "SGF55", an acronym that might easily translate to "Samsung Galaxy F55".

Should that be the case, it corresponds to a triple rear camera device with a rear panel that, while fairly unique among Galaxy-series smartphones with its thin stitching on orange or black leather-patterned backgrounds, is already familiar in the form of the new C55.

The "F55" even has a very similar model number: SM-E556B, which has now also appeared on Geekbench as an upcoming smartphone with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, 8GB of RAM and an Android 14-based SoC.

Nevertheless, that new trend in mid-tier Samsung smartphone specs is allegedly headed back to India, albeit with an updated look that might be a welcome change in a sea of glass-sandwich devices at an INR ~29,999 (~$360) price-point.
