Vivo iQOO Z9x 5G: New mid-range 5G smartphone with 1,000 cd/m² brightness and IP certification

Vivo will soon be offering a new smartphone. The iQOO Z9x 5G will be available in India from May 16 - also via Amazon. There is currently no information on the price, but it is a (lower) mid-range model and should therefore be available for no more than 250 euros.

The SoC is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 from Qualcomm is used. The chip, presented in September 2022, is therefore not cutting-edge and has four Cortex A78 and four Cortex A55 cores. A 5G modem is integrated into the SoC, meaning the iQOO Z9x 5G can also connect to fast and modern mobile networks.

A working memory with a capacity of eight gigabytes is used - as usual, its capacity can be virtually doubled with a swap file. The internal memory can also be expanded with the help of the microSD card. The internal memory measures 128 gigabytes, the manufacturer uses Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. Software updates will be available for two years and security updates for one year longer.

The 6.72-inch display is advertised with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz with a 7-step adjustment. The maximum brightness is specified at 1,000 cd/m². Two speakers are installed. IP64 certification is available, meaning the iQOO Z9x 5G should be protected against damage from water and dust within certain limits. The main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels.
