ibisPaint adds AI Disturbance feature to prevent generative AI from creating art that looks like yours
ibisPaint has released version 12.1.0 of its drawing application that includes an AI Disturbance feature to prevent generative artificial intelligence from learning your art style and making new look-alike art. This feature helps artists protect their art and livelihood when sharing examples of their work online by forcing AI to create art that does not look similar when prompted to do so.
Generative AI for creating images such as Stable Diffusion are trained on millions of source images. When fed image after image, AI begins to learn the characteristics that define each artist's style and can very quickly create art in the style of prompted artists. Such creations threaten the livelihood of artists by potentially eliminating the need for human artists once AI has learned their art styles.
ibisPaint adds noise to corrupt shared art by adding information that should not be there. This noise appears subtle to the human eye, but makes the art looks completely different to AI. This subtle manipulation of the AI during training is enough to corrupt its output when prompted to create art in the style of an artist.
ibisPaint is a drawing program that has built-in social media features that bring collaboration to art creation. The application runs on Windows computers and tablets as well as Android and Apple tablets and phones. Readers without a 2-in-1 or tablet PC with a pen can buy an external drawing display with pen support to start drawing with ibisPaint today.
