iQOO asserts that its upcoming Z9-series flagship will be a powerhouse in terms of endurance as well as performance with a new and enlarged battery. The Turbo Plus (or Turbo+) will also debut with MediaTek's most powerful SoC for Android smartphones (right now) later in September 2024.

iQOO touted the Z9 Turbo as an Android smartphone capable of beating its Redmi namesake with a larger 6,000mAh battery. However, its upcoming Plus variant is now officially slated to do even better in this vein.

The OEM has just confirmed that the device will debut with the same kind of upgrade also forecast for next-gen Android flagships, as it will boast a series-first 6,400mAh battery on its September 24, 2024 launch.

The Z9 Turbo+ has the same new Blue Ocean technology from iQOO parent Vivo as the new Y300 Pro, thereby underpinning the impression that it will also serve as a hardware preview of what is to come after it.

The Turbo+ has also been confirmed as a Dimensity 9300+ device at last: MediaTek's "most powerful flagship chip"...until the 9400 comes along, of course.

Accordingly, the Z9 Turbo+ seems poised to act as a swansong for the 2023-24 cycle of high-end smartphones for iQOO. Going by legendary leaker Digital Chat Station's preliminary endorsement of the device as the "1.5K flat-screen performance smartphone you are looking for", it might well be a good one, too.
