Xbox Game Pass gets 3 new games, including two brand new AAA titles
Strategists will get their money's worth from Microsoft in September. Until the end of the month, the Game Pass will receive three new games - each of them a strategy game. Of particular note here are Frostpunk 2 and Ara: History Untold, two brand new AAA titles that will be playable via Game Pass from the day of release.
Wargroove 2
Wargroove 2 is a turn-based strategy game in which several factions fight for supremacy. Each faction has commanders with unique abilities, the so-called "Grooves", which become even more powerful in this installment as they can be charged in several phases. The game offers an extensive single-player campaign with an in-depth story and various game modes - including multiplayer matches and editor functions. The colorful pixel art style gives the game a certain retro charm.
Frostpunk 2
Frostpunk 2 is the sequel to the award-winning building strategy game from 11 Bit Studios. The game picks up 30 years after the events of the first installment and once again confronts players with a frozen world in which humans can barely survive. As the leader of a surviving community, players must manage a city, mine resources and make painful moral decisions. In contrast to the first part, in which coal was the main source of energy, Frostpunk 2 revolves around the development of oil as a new, scarce resource. The central dilemmas are political decisions: Make children work for more productivity or send the old into the ice desert to save resources? The question is: how far are you prepared to go to ensure the survival of the community?
Ara: History Untold
This turn-based strategy game allows players to write an alternative history of mankind. Similar to classic 4X games (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate), the focus is on exploration and strategic decisions. However, Ara promises to bring a breath of fresh air to the genre with innovative mechanics and a dynamic world progression. Players manage resources, research technologies and develop their nation individually while facing conflicts with rival civilian nations.
