Ram Gopal Varma, the Indian filmmaker known for movies such as Company, Sarkar, and Satya, has launched RGV Den Music, which will only handle AI-generated music. He also confirmed that his future projects will only use such music and predicted that all humans involved in the music industry will be replaced by AI.

With up to 2,000 movies and 25,000 songs released annually, India is a leading force in the media industry. While this field provides plenty of jobs for now, it seems that a popular filmmaker is tired of missed deadlines caused by human musicians and wants to assign all his music-related work to AI from now on. Ram Gopal Varma has just launched RGV Den Music, a venture that aims to feature exclusively AI-generated music. The tracks would come from various apps, including Suno and Udio, mentioned Varma.

The filmmaker said that all his projects will ditch human work in the music field. He revealed that his new movie, Saree, features a soundtrack that's entirely AI-generated. After criticizing composers for their deadline misses and scheduling conflicts, Varma also accused lyricists of not being able to reach the songs' essence. He went as far as saying that the human factor is often slowing down the creative process, while the AI approach delivers instantly for virtually no costs.

Although many directors, such as Christopher Nolan, are currently against over-using AI in movies and claim that art generated by humans cannot be that easily replaced, Varma thinks that human composers, lyricists, musicians, and singers "will be vastly affected and then completely disappear in the near future" as the apps used to generate multimedia content much cheaper and faster continue to improve and expand.

When taking the discussion in the mined field that is ownership of one's work, including AI-generated content, Varma mentioned Reclaim Protocol and Story Protocol, two startups that would secure the rights of his AI-generated soundtracks by using cryptographic proofs.

For now, the musicians who are willing to embrace the AI revolution instead of fighting it might want to check out Bobby Owsinski's The Musician’s AI Handbook: Enhance And Promote Your Music With Artificial Intelligence. This 277-page book can be acquired for $9.99 in Kindle format and $39.99 in paperback shape.
