OPPO Find X8 Pro to debut as next-gen flagship-series Android smartphone with +5,500mAh battery
The OPPO Find X6 Pro was passed over for a direct upgrade in favor of the new top-end X7 Ultra variant in early 2024 - however, it will in fact gain a successor later this same year, according to famed leaker Digital Chat Station.
The X8 Pro is believed to debut with the same MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC as the Find X8 rather than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 of the Ultra. However, the Pro might distinguish itself from its vanilla sibling in other ways, a larger battery included.
It is tipped to launch as OPPO's first ever 5,700mAh flagship smartphone (although its actual rated capacity might be closer to 5,540mAh). Similarly, even the base model Find X8 is now thought to beat the OnePlus 12R by launching as a 5,600mAh device - although that might be closer to 5,440mAh on average.
However, the Find X8 Ultra is now tipped to overshadow them both as a 6,000mAh behemoth - and that is just its rumored rated capacity, which might let OPPO market it with a typical value of between 6,100 and 6,200mAh.
Then again, the allegedly significant Find X8 battery upgrades might come with some drawbacks: namely the loss of wireless charging (which went up to 50W in the X7 Ultra).
In addition, the X8 series as outlined in these latest leaks would charge slower from their USB-C ports, as they are projected to stick with the same 100W SuperVOOC wired charging technology as their forebears.
