OPPO Find X8 surfaces as upcoming Android flagship with modernized design in new leak

The appearance of an allegedly pre-release device on Weibo has led to speculation that the vanilla Find X8 will debut with a new square version of its predecessor's camera hump; however, as the tipster Li Ang Ang ah points out, that effect is probably created by the kind of anti-leak casing in which the OnePlus Open was also seen prior to its launch.

In addition, the "square" hump seems to encroach on the signature OPPO corner-mounted flash module more than the OEM might like: another indication that the "Find X8" actually has yet another huge Hasselblad-branded central disk under the case. 

Then again, it can't hide the fact that the device has a flat edge, whereas the Find X7 stuck with curved sides. Furthermore, it also looks like the vanilla X8 has made the switch to a flat display, even though its Ultra counterpart might not.

The alleged X8 also has what might be a power button along its right edge, although it should be noted that the X7 has an Alert Slider in the same position.

The putative 2024/5 vanilla flagship is said to launch as the most compact variant of its next-gen line-up, although it may not be that much slimmer thanks to its enlarged battery.
