OPPO Find X8: New leak asserts upcoming smartphone will not have extra camera button
OPPO is thought to finally bow to peer pressure and switch to a flat-edged design for the successors to the Find X7 and X7 Ultra. In fact, Apple's influence is thought to be so overwhelming that the devices will adopt one more bleeding-edge upgrade also thought to star in the impending iPhone 16 series: solid-state or capacitive buttons.
The technology is thought to manifest itself in the form of the Find X8 series' "Quick Button", to be found further along the smartphones' metallic edge on the same side as their (still physical) volume and power controls for the purposes of automatic access to their Hasselblad-branded rear cameras.
However, according to a new tip purporting to once again show the vanilla X8 hands-on, albeit in a leak-proof case, fails to show the supposed Quick Button in its predicted location.
It just might be hidden under the case (it is depicted as flush to the side of the new frame, after all); however, it is also possible that the alleged Quick Button is exclusive to the higher-end Find X8 Pro and Ultra variants.
As for the base-model X8, it could retain its predecessor's Alert Slider (a potentially useful 3-stage switch also found in this OnePlus 12R from Amazon), at least - which also has a vague chance of upgrading to a solid-state version in 2024, according to famed leaker Digital Chat Station.
