Motorola Moto G55: Hardware upgrades compared to Moto G54 revealed by pre-release leaks
Motorola has released plenty of Moto G series smartphones this year, many of which it has decided to offer globally. Most recently, it presented the Moto G85 as an alternative to the likes of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G (curr. $285.69 on Amazon). Additionally, it has introduced more budget options like the Moto G04s and Moto G 5G (2024), although the latter is a North American exclusive.
Now, it seems that Motorola is preparing to replace the Moto G54, which landed alongside the Moto G84 last September. According to @Sudhanshu1414, Motorola has equipped the Moto G55 with a MediaTek Dimensity 7025 chipset, as well as up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 flash storage. Moreover, the Moto G55 is said to contain the following other hardware highlights:
- 50 MP primary camera with OIS (f/1.8)
- 8 MP ultra-wide-angle (f/2.2)
- 16 MP front-facing camera (f/2.4)
- 5,000 mAh battery (30 W charging)
- 6.49-inch IPS display, 1080p resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate
Moreover, the Moto G55 will retain a 3.5 mm jack and USB Type-C connectivity. Nonetheless, the handset is expected to launch with IP54 certification, which would be an upgrade over the IP52 with which its predecessor is advertised. Unfortunately, pricing and availability remain unknown for now.
