The Oppo F27 5G offers a modern design and interesting features for the equivalent of around $280, as Oppo installs a ring-shaped notification LED around the camera module and offers an unusual walkie-talkie feature with BeaconLink.

The Oppo F27 5G looks very modern thanks to its flat, glossy frame, its relatively thin screen edges and its large, round camera module. But the most unusual feature of the housing is the LED ring that sits around the camera module, as the so-called halo light can light up in different colors to indicate incoming calls, notifications or music playback, for example.

The integrated stereo speakers are said to generate three times the volume of the previous model. The approximately 7.76 mm thin, 187 gram light housing is IP64 certified and thus protected against dust and rain. One of the most unusual features of the Oppo F27 5G is BeaconLink, which allows for a connection between several Oppo smartphones via Bluetooth, allowing them to be used as walkie-talkies at a maximum distance of around 200 meters.

Oppo has installed a 6.67-inch, 120 Hz fast 1,080p+ AMOLED panel that achieves a peak brightness of 2,100 nits. A 50 MP main camera is on board, which is supported by a 2 MP sensor. The 32 MP selfie camera is located in a central punch-hole. Although the battery "only" has a capacity of 5,000 mAh, it should still achieve a battery life of almost two days. Charging is via USB-C with up to 45 watts. Oppo has not confirmed any details about the installed processor, but benchmark leaks point to a MediaTek Dimensity 6300.

Price and availability

The Oppo F27 5G will first be launched in India, where the base model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB flash storage will be available for INR 22,999 (approx. $275), while the top model with 256 GB storage will be priced at INR 24,999 (approx. $300).
