OPPO Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communications Edition design, price and specs revealed in new leak
Satellite messaging is projected to hit the next generation of (non-Apple) smartphones in earnest worldwide, as signaled by support for the feature in Android 15's latest Developer Preview version. Meanwhile, in China, the feature and its effect on asking prices is already a thing. Now, OPPO is reportedly poised to dish up the latest slice of this reality in the form of a new flagship smartphone variant.
It has now reportedly been revealed to look the same as any pre-existing X7 Ultra finished in the flagship's Tailored Black (vegan leather with mid-line stitching) colorway - except for the huge round camera hump, which seems to have acquired a new, checkerboard-effect background for its triple lenses.
Nevertheless, it still boasts the same cutting-edge Hasselblad-branded rear cameras as the cellular-only X7 Ultra - then again, it has become the smartphone's only variant to pair 1TB of internal storage with 16GB of RAM. That pushes its price up to 7,999 yuan (~$1,107), compared to 6,999 yuan (~$968) for the former top-end 512GB SKU.
The resulting new top-end mobile device has also recently posted impressive results on Geekbench thanks to its top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform.
It is to be unleashed as the Find X7 Ultra Satellite Communications Edition (or OPPO PHY120) via its apparently exclusive carrier China Telecom, and has yet to pop up via third-party importers such as TradingShenzhen thus far.
