Motorola has been fuelling rumours for weeks that it will soon be releasing a variety of Edge-branded smartphones. For now, it has mainly confirmed details about the Edge 50 Pro, which will debut on April 3. While the company has revealed that the Edge 50 Pro will utilise a weaker chipset than its predecessor, it had teased that another handset would feature Qualcomm's recent Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.
As we have discussed separately, it appeared that this device was the Moto X50 Ultra. Now, Android Headlines alleges that Motorola plans to return its 'Ultra' branding to global audiences, having last used it in late 2022 with the Edge 30 Ultra. It is worth noting that @passionategeekz believes that Motorola has developed a device called the 'Moto Edge 50 Plus 5G' too. Although they added that they were 'positive' that it was a European device, others assert that this is more likely a North American device to replace the Edge Plus 2023 (curr. $502.61 on Amazon).
At any rate, Android Headlines' thirty leaked images not only confirm the design of Motorola's next flagship but also some of its features. For example, the Edge 50 Ultra will sport a large curved display with slim bezels. However, it appears that Motorola has been unable to offer the bezel uniformity of its peers. Instead, the Edge 50 Ultra has a larger bottom bezel than its top bezel, albeit by a much smaller margin than on its recent Moto G releases.
Additionally, the Edge 50 Ultra has a sizeable camera housing, within which sits three lenses that cover 12 mm to 75 mm equivalent focal lengths. Moreover, the images reveal that the Edge 50 Ultra has a 50 MP primary camera that supports optical image stabilisation (OIS), as well as unknown ultra-wide-angle and periscope zoom cameras. The Edge 50 Ultra will be available in three colours that Android Headlines describes as Black, Peach Fuzz and Sisal. Despite a release date being unknown for now, it seems that the Edge 50 Ultra can already be seen in official Motorola teasers relating to the Edge 50 Pro.
