The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is projected to look much like the existing silicon vegan leather-finished 50 Pro from the back - except that its bottom-most rear camera cut-out is slated to assume a heretofore-unseen elongated oval shape in order to accommodate a series-first periscope zoom lens.
A device going by that name (or as the "motorola motorola edge 50 ultra", to be more accurate) has just appeared on Geekbench, racking up decent single- and multi-core scores thanks to its 12GB of RAM and Android 14-based OS.
It has a motherboard identifier listed as ctwo rather than pineapple as might be expected, yet still exhibits the distinctive 4x2.8GHz/3x2.01GHz/1x3.01GHz ARM core lay-out of the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The Edge 50 Ultra is indeed touted to rock that flagship SoC variant in place of the 50 Pro's step back to a mid-range processor.
Accordingly, Motorola might indeed debut a smartphone with such specs as the Edge 50 Ultra - or the Moto X50 Ultra in China - or the Edge+ 2024 in the US - in mid-April 2024. Meanwhile, the Edge+ 2023 now starts at $699.99 on Amazon, having received an intriguing $100 (or 13%) discount.
