Motorola announces global launch date for rumoured Edge 50 Fusion, Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Ultra releases
Motorola has now hinted at a global release of new Edge-branded smartphones. For context, the company has focused on expanding its Moto G series so far this year globally with devices like 2024 editions of the Moto G 5G and Moto G Power 5G, among others. However, it has already started selling the Edge 50 Pro in India following a launch there earlier this month.
Additionally, there is ample evidence to suggest that Motorola has developed the Edge 50 Fusion and Edge 50 Ultra. Based on various leaks, the pair will sandwich the Edge 50 Pro with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipsets, respectively. For reference, Motorola equips the Edge 50 Pro with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. As a result, the handset is a OnePlus Nord CE 4 rival and more of an Edge 40 successor than a follow-up to the Edge 40 Pro.
According to Motorola's global Twitter account, its next launch event will occur on April 16. Incidentally, this is the same date that recent Amazon listings suggested would be the release date for the Edge 50 Pro. To that end, Motorola has reused the 'Intelligence Meets Art' strapline that first appeared in India's Edge 50 Pro pre-release teasers. Consequently, it seems that at least the Edge 50 Pro is in line for a global release, if not the Edge 50 Fusion and Edge 50 Ultra as well, given the volume of the leaks that the pair have been a part of in recent weeks.
