Motorola Edge 50 Fusion set for mid-May 2024 launch in India
The launch of the Edge 50 Fusion may have been a pleasant surprise for Motorola fans worldwide as it has been unveiled with Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 silicon rather than that of the 6 Gen 1 as speculated earlier. Now, it is bringing its relatively up-to-date platform to a new market.
The 144Hz pOLED display device is also now touted to boast its "Segment's Best" 50MP main camera thanks to a new Sony LYTIA 700C main sensor. It is found in a minimalist, dual-lensed take on the 50-series' considerably streamlined camera hump, yet still boasts OIS and "Ultra Pixel" technology.
On that note, the 50 Fusion will be one of the very few phones on the Indian market with a rear panel in a choice of different textures as well as colors. Its Forest Blue option will have a smooth PMMA finish, as opposed to the Vegan Suede of its Hot Pink SKU and the Vegan Leather of the Marshmallow Blue variant.
Nevertheless, all 3 are still rated for IP68 ingress-protection, and have USB-C ports that support a decent (if last gen) 68W TurboPower charging rate.
They will be unleashed on May 16, 2024 via Flipkart, a retail platform that has yet to give a hint of its price. For reference, its closest forebear available on Amazon.in, the Edge 40 Neo, has a list price of INR 28,000 (although it is discounted by 15% right now).
