New Motorola smartphone revealed running Android 14 with 5G mid-range Qualcomm chipset
A few days have passed since Evan Blass detailed the Edge 50 Fusion. To recap, the leaker claimed that the device would feature the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, a chipset that is over 18 months old. While about as powerful as the Exynos 1380 that powers popular mid-range devices like the Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A54, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 would make the Edge 50 Fusion significantly less powerful than its predecessor.
New leaked Geekbench listings underline this performance disparity between the Edge 30 Fusion and Edge 50 Fusion, evidence of which we have embedded below. Ultimately, the scores shown below fall right in line with the performance we have already observed from the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. Thus, the Edge 50 Fusion will likely perform about 25% slower than the Edge 30 Fusion, despite the latter being released in September 2022.
Geekbench also confirms that the Edge 50 Fusion will launch with 8 GB of RAM. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether other RAM options will be available, as has been the case with the Edge 30 Fusion. At any rate, the handset will ship with Android 14 and is rumoured to contain a 6.7-inch pOLED display, as well as a 5,000 mAh battery and a 50 MP primary camera, among other features.
