The Realme 12X is already the fifth model in the Realme 12 series, with the manufacturer focusing primarily on an attractive price-performance ratio for this model. To this end, Realme has installed an IPS panel instead of an AMOLED in the 7.89-millimeter thin casing.
Although this only achieves a brightness of 625 nits, it has a minimum brightness of just 1 nit for more comfortable use in low light, as well as a frame rate of 120 Hz. The 8-megapixel selfie camera sits in a central punch-hole, while the large, round camera module houses the 50 MP main camera, alongside a useless 2 MP sensor and an LED flash. The Realme 12X relies on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+, which has four ARM Cortex-A76 performance cores with clock speeds of up to 2.2 GHz and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0 GHz.
In addition, there is always 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 512 GB of flash memory. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and is charged via USB-C with up to 15 watts. The housing is IP54-certified and therefore protected against rain and water splashes, but not completely waterproof. The Realme 12X comes with Realme UI 5 based on Android 14.
Prices and availability
The Realme 12X will be launched in China with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB flash memory for 1,399 yuan (approx. 180 euros), while the variant with 512 GB memory will cost 1,599 yuan (approx. 206 euros). Details on a possible international launch are still pending, but since the Realme 12 Pro+ is also available in Germany, the chances of a launch in Europe are good.
