Lenovo Tab P12 with Matt Display surfaces with surprising choice of SoC in new leak
Lenovo is now projected to very overtly embrace the paper-like trend with the supposedly upcoming Tab P12 with Matt Display. According to a new Google Play Console leak, that really is the full product name under which it might launch soon, joining an immediate predecessor that is currently priced at $369 on sites such as Amazon.
The newer tablet is generally expected to launch as a straightforward version of the current Tab P12, just with a anti-glare display. Its new leak does confirm this theory to a certain extent, specifying that the Matt (sic) Display will indeed have the same 2944 x 1840 resolution and DPI of 340.
The updated Tab P12 is also now slated to launch with Android 13 and 8GB of RAM. However, while the original slate is powered by the up-to-2.6GHz Dimensity 7050, Google apparently asserts that its Matt Display refresh will run on a different platform with a top speed of 2.4GHz instead.
This SoC is even identified as the "MT8791V/T" - also known as the MediaTek Kompanio 900T that has not been heard of for a couple of years now. The Lenovo Tab P12 with Matt Display is also now tipped to reboot this chipset with the novel model number of TB372FC later in 2024.
