The 12.7-inch Lenovo Tab P12 benefits from a great price-to-performance ratio. Online, the mid-range device is already available for under US$400 in some places - but it still offers great features and performance. The option to expand the tablet's uses via a stylus and keyboard makes the device particularly interesting.

With a diagonal display size of 12.7 inches, the Tab P12 is one of Lenovo's largest tablets and at the same time, can be used as a family tablet and productive system. Like its sister model the Lenovo Tab P11 2022 (Gen 2), the Tab P12's uses can also be expanded through the use of a stylus and a docking keyboard. Supporting this are OS features such as window view and split screen mode.

Multitasking through window view

The Tab P12 runs using Android 13 and Lenovo's user interface ZUI 15. It differs from standard Android through its multitasking features in particular. Your last opened apps are displayed on an app bar along the bottom edge of the display. You can also open apps in their own windows which can then be moved around your desktop or be changed in size. The Tab P12 can also display two apps at the same time through a split-screen mode. The split can be adjusted via a slider.

Lenovo's stylus, the Tab Pen Plus (US$64), supports 4,096 pressure and tilt detection levels and can be connected to the tablet via Bluetooth. Thanks to it weighing only 13 grams, the pen sits comfortably in your hand and makes it easy to draw or write on the device. The additional optional keyboard pack (US$140) consists of a keyboard with a touchpad as well as a type cover with a foldable stand.

60-Hz 3K display, fast SoC & quad speakers

Lenovo has equipped the Tab P12 with an LTPS display with a brightness of 400 nits, which has a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a 3K resolution of 2,944 x 1,840 pixels. Due to its low brightness reserves, the 12.7-inch tablet is mostly suited for indoor use, although our test showed that you can also use it outside - as long as you sit in the shade.

Thanks to its solid mid-range SoC MediaTek Dimensity 7050, the Tab P12 is able to deliver quite good performance and the SoC assures that apps run smoothly in everyday use. The four Dolby Atmos speakers are also quite impressive - the tablet is able to achieve a great surround sound which even manages to transport bass tones well.
