The Hisense Mural TV R8K has been launched in China. The new model is somewhat similar to the Samsung The Frame TV, designed to mimic a piece of art when not in use. A matte display helps to add to this illusion and minimizes reflections or glare when watching content.
The Mural TV R8K has a direct LED backlight with a peak brightness of 500 nits. The 4K model with a 120Hz refresh rate covers 93% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and the U+ Super Image Quality Engine Pro enhances the image. The model has ten built-in speakers with a combined output of 72W, Ultra-wide Sound Field Sound Pro technology, and support for Dolby Atmos. Other features include dual-band Wi-Fi and a range of ports like HDMI 2.1, HDMI 2.0, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0.
The TV has an over 97% screen-to-body ratio and is only 37.4 mm (~1.47-in) thick, with Hisense claiming you can mount the TV to your wall with a gap as small as 3 mm (~0.12-in). Plus, the model won a Gold Award at the CMF Design Awards 2023. The Hisense Mural TV R8K 65-in and 75-in models retail in China for 9,999 yuan (~US$1,409) and 12,999 yuan (~US$1,831), respectively. The company has yet to announce plans to roll out the new model to other markets.
