LG B4, C4 and G4 new 4K TVs with up to 144Hz VRR leak
The 2024 LG B4, C4, and G4 TVs have been leaked. The new models follow their 2023 predecessors, the B3, C3 and G3. The 2024 TVs appeared in the AMD FreeSync Premium database, with certifications given in September and October. The TVs are listed in three sizes: 48 inches, 55 inches and 77 inches, though there will likely be a broader range of options at launch.
The B4 is listed with a variable refresh rate (VRR) range of 40 to 120Hz, while the C4 and G4 models will support 144Hz VRR via HDMI. This is an increase compared to older OLED TVs from LG, which peaked at 120Hz. The database confirms that these are 4K TVs with support for HDR, FreeSync Premium and Low framerate compensation (LFC). It is thought that the G4 will have an MLA OLED panel, increasing the TV’s brightness. It remains unclear whether the other models will use this technology.
Rumors also suggest that LG is working on a new processor, the Alpha 10, for the 2024 lineup, following the Alpha 9 Gen6. This would sit alongside a new powerful Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for improved upscaling and noise reduction. Images of the 55-in C4 and 77-in G4 models were also discovered at Safety Korea. LG is expected to officially announce the 2024 C4, B4 and G4 TVs at CES in January 2024.
