Xiaomi Mijia Smart Electric Hot Water Bottle 5L now on sale
The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Electric Hot Water Bottle 5L is now available in China following a successful crowdfunding campaign. The gadget is like a large kettle, boiling up to 20 cups of water simultaneously. With 1,600W power, Xiaomi estimates it would take around 18 minutes to boil five litres of water. Plus, the company suggests an extended boiling time removes further impurities like chlorine.
The Mijia Smart Electric Hot Water Bottle 5L has three boiling modes: tap, pure, and cooled water. These allow you to keep the water hot for tea or coffee or to be cooled via a circulating air supply to be consumed at room temperature. You can control the temperature of the water using an integrated touch panel, with 1°C (~2°F) temperature adjustments between 40 and 90°C (~104 to 194°F). Alternatively, you can remotely control the device via the Xiaomi app, adjusting settings like the discharge volume.
The smart home product has a stainless steel heating plate with a glass liner and a polypropylene shell to keep the exterior cool. It also has a night vision light, allowing you to use the device safely in a darker room. The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Electric Hot Water Bottle 5L is available in China for 299 yuan (~US$42). It is unclear whether or when Xiaomi intends to launch this gadget in other markets.
