Xiaomi Smart Door Lock E20 Wi-Fi Version launching after successful crowdfunding
The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock E20 Wi-Fi Version is officially launching in China. The gadget debuted via a crowdfunding campaign earlier this year, raising almost 125,000 yuan (~US$174,75), over 200% of its funding target. Now, the company is running a pre-sale event for the smart home gadget.
The Smart Door Lock E20 Wi-Fi Version allows you to unlock your door in various ways, including with your fingerprint, thanks to a built-in scanner with a 99.2% accuracy rate and 0.5 second read time. Other methods include passwords, NFC and Bluetooth, and the device comes with a physical backup key. Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz connectivity allows you to remotely monitor the lock in the company’s app, with alerts for the door being left open or multiple failed attempts to unlock it. Plus, the gadget is part of the Mijia smart home ecosystem, allowing you to link it to devices like smart lights. Other features include an integrated doorbell, a 15-month runtime, and recharging via USB-C. The gadget has a class C lock cylinder and is 23.2 mm (~0.9-in) thick.
You can now pre-order the Xiaomi Smart Door Lock E20 Wi-Fi Version in China for 1,099 yuan (~US$154) with a 100 yuan (~US$14) deposit. When this pre-sale event ends on December 31, the gadget will retail for 1,299 yuan (~US$182). It remains to be seen whether or when the Xiaomi smart home device could launch in other markets.
