The Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite is now on sale worldwide. The new model appears to be the first of a range of products, with the company labelling it the “entry model of the third-generation TV Backlight series”. The product projects light onto the wall behind your TV, enhancing the colors on the screen and reducing eye strain.
The Backlight 3 Lite is described as producing RGBIC+W light, with an extra warm white to improve your movie-watching or gaming experience. Compared to the second generation, the new model has upgraded Envisual Technology and a fish-eye correction camera for more accurate color matching and edges. The gadget will also support Matter in the future, though Govee has not indicated a timeframe for this. The Backlight 3 Lite is less powerful than its predecessor, with a single rather than dual camera and 30 LEDs/m, rather than 60 LEDs/m.
You can control the Backlight 3 Lite using the Govee Home app and Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands. Intelligent features include an automatic switch-off when a black or static screen is detected, and you can link up to eight Govee lights for co-ordinated lighting. The device is suitable for 55 to 65-inch TVs, including ultra-thin models, and is said to be compatible with any TV content.
