LG has announced that its smart displays come with complimentary access to Apple's TV Plus (or TV+) content for a limited time. The offer is open to all new and existing owners of eligible 4K or 8K TVs released over the past seven years, as well as the StanbyME series of "lifestyle screens".

LG asserts that its TVs provide the best way to consume Apple TV+ in 4K or 8K, thanks to their support for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, not to mention the app-specific Filmmaker Mode introduced with the OEM's latest 2024 models.

Now, LG is giving its smart screen users a way to test those features out for themselves. The company is giving subscription-free access to Apple's "premium" shows or movies such as Ted Lasso or Killers of the Flower Moon away to these customers.

Each free trial lasts 3 months, and can be activated through the Apple TV app for LG's custom smart UI. The offer is valid for TVs (LG's often well-received OLED models included) capable of running webOS 22, webOS 23 or webOS 24 released from 2018 to 2024. That includes the new and less usual StanbyME or StanbyME Go (currently available for $1,178.37 on Amazon).

The offer is generally valid from today (February 6, 2024) until April 30, 2024 to users in 93* of the countries in which LG operates, with slight variation** in those terms for certain nations based on the availability of webOS versions
