Signify has released a new update for the Philips Hue app. Version 5.10.0 is now available to download for Android and iOS devices, bringing two new features to your smart home gadgets. The first tool relates to the brand’s newer home security products, while the second is linked to Valentine’s Day.

A new update for the Philips Hue app, version 5.10.0, is rolling out to iOS and Android users. The latest software follows two updates earlier this year, v5.8.0 and v5.9.0, which brought new tools to deter intruders, provide additional organization, and enhance products like the Tap Dial Switch.

Version 5.10.0 is another smaller update, bringing two features to the Philips Hue app. The first relates to security, with a new option to turn off the notifications triggered by armed Secure devices like cameras and contact sensors. The company notes that events will still be recorded in the timeline as usual, so you can review them later.

The second addition is Valentine’s Day themed; the company has added a Romantic lighting category, with a range of scenes to help you set the mood. The changelog shows that these modes will be searchable via the scene gallery after the event has passed. Existing presets for lighting include Romantic Film Night, Candlelight Romance and Valentine’s Warmth. Customers can download the latest version of the Philips Hue app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
