Several improvements are on the way to the EcoFlow PowerStream balcony solar system. The company is already rolling out a firmware update with Solar DualCharge technology and plans to increase the AC output limit for the microinverter. Plus, EcoFlow has teased a new weatherproof portable power station.

EcoFlow has recently announced several updates for its PowerStream balcony power plant. The system has been designed to capture and store solar energy for you to use during a power outage or to reduce your energy bills.

Firstly, EcoFlow is pushing Solar DualCharge technology to its PowerStream balcony solar system through a firmware update. The new feature increases the possible solar yield up to three times by enabling simultaneous charging via the power station and the microinverter. In turn, this extra solar-generated electricity should further reduce customer’s energy bills. Presumably, the firmware update is available via the EcoFlow app.

In another announcement for the German market, EcoFlow says it plans to upgrade the microinverter’s AC output limit from 600W to 800W; the higher level is already available in other European countries. However, the company is waiting for new regulations to be brought in by the government before proceeding with this enhancement. Anker and Zendure have also made similar announcements.

Plus, EcoFlow has teased a weatherproof portable power station. The PowerStream kit currently contains the DELTA Max (2 kWh), which should be stored indoors. The new model is supposedly rated as IP54 water and dust-resistant, meaning it can withstand some dust and rain. A built-in heater will also increase the range of cold temperatures in which the device will continue to work. Further details, such as the battery capacity, have yet to be unveiled. The new EcoFlow weatherproof portable power station is expected to launch this March, with pricing to be confirmed.
