SpaceX is finally releasing its new, more powerful Starlink Residential tier hardware, and is making it available for purchase at places like Best Buy. The new Starlink Standard Kit comes with a larger antenna.

The newest Starlink Standard Kit complete with the larger, more powerful antenna is now available to anyone over at Best Buy. Back in November, SpaceX offered the new Starlink V4 setup to select customers in the US for a test run, and has now made it available to the general public.

This means that the previous Starlink antenna that had a swivel mechanism is gone from the SpaceX website, and has been replaced with the new $599 V4 Standard Kit as the default option. The installation instructions now suggest to just prop the larger, 23.4 high rectangular antenna towards a clear view of the sky with the help of the kickstand on the back.

Needless to say, SpaceX is offering extra mounting options for those who'd have to position the new Starlink Residential tier hardware on their rooftop, wall, or on a pole, too. The larger Starlink antenna that replaces the oldie Dishy McFlatface is more powerful, too, drawing up to 100W of power, as opposed to the the 50W-75W of Dishy which was a good three inches smaller.

The newly available Starlink residential Wi-Fi kit is water-resistant with IP67 certification and can withstand torrential rains or even flooding. It weighs 3.2 kg (7 lb) together with the kickstand and can operate in wind speeds north of 60 mph, while melting snow with the rate of 1.5 inches per hour.

These specs are fine improvements over its predecessor, but the most important thing is that it should provide better signal and catch it easier than before, all the while SpaceX is making Starlink kits available at more retail places such as Home Depot, Best Buy, and even Costco.
