The Rock 5A Pink Edition is an affordable version of the Rock 5A that comes pre-configured with 16 GB of LPDDR4x RAM. Sold for just over $100, the Rock 5A Pink Edition is billed as being powerful enough to surpass the Raspberry Pi 5, the most potent option in the Raspberry Pi ecosystem.

Arace Tech is now selling a tweaked version of the Rock 5A, over a year after Radxa launched the single-board computer (SBC). As far as we can tell, the Rock 5A Pink Edition carries over all the key specifications of the original Rock 5A. Nonetheless, the Pink Edition is available at a considerable discount compared to the regular edition and with fewer memory options.

For context, Radxa equips all Rock 5A units with a Rockchip RK3588S chipset, plus LPDDR4x RAM, eMMC 5.1 flash storage and a MicroSD card reader. Moreover, the SBC has an M.2 E Key for small SSDs, although all drives are limited to PCIe 2.1 and SATA 3.0 speeds. Also, the Rock 5A finds itself with a 40-pin GPIO header, a USB Type-C port that handles power and a pair of HDMI 2.1 connections, among other I/O.

Thus, the Rock 5A Pink Edition mirrors the Rock 5B Blue Edition that Arace Tech released in November 2023. In this case, the Rock 5A Pink Edition only comes with 16 GB of RAM at a $159 MSRP. However, the retailer has discounted the SBC to $109, making it about 25% more expensive than the Raspberry Pi 5 against which Arace Tech draws comparisons in its promotional materials.
