Up Xtreme 7100: New single-board computer and mini PC is robust and suitable for a wide range of applications
AAEON is now offering new single-board computers with the Up Xtreme 7100 and a corresponding PC system with the Up Xtreme 7100 Edge. The manufacturer is targeting commercial buyers rather than end customers who are looking for a basis for a media PC. Instead, the Up Xtreme 7100 platforms are more designed for robot applications.
Either the Intel N97 or the significantly more powerful Intel Core i3-N305 is used as the processor. Up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM can be used; depending on the model version selected, the eMMCS memory measures up to 64 GB. Connections to a wired network can be established via two Ethernet ports, each with up to 2.5 GBit/s; a module for WiFi and Bluetooth must first be installed in an M.2 2230 slot. Additional M.2 ports are also included, including in the M.2 2230 format. A high-performance SSD can also be used there, which can be connected via two PCIe 3.0 lanes. The installation of a special card in order to accelerate AI computing power is also possible. An M.2 3052 slot and a nano SIM slot are also available.
Image output takes place either via USB Type C or DisplayPort 1.4. As is usual for a product designed for industrial use, RS-232, RS422 and RS485 connections can also be utilized. Digital outputs and inputs are also available, which can be used to control various devices. There are two USB 3.2 and two USB 2.0 ports, all of which are in USB type A format. Six GPIO pins are available. The mini PC measures just 152 x 124 x 40 millimeters and can be easily mounted using a VESA bracket.
The price for the UP Xtreme 7100 Edge Mini PC with the Intel N97 is $489 in the AAEON store.
