ASUS has provided more details about the Fanless Chromebox CF40. To recap, the company unveiled the mini-PC a week or so ago during CES 2024. For some reason, it elected against listing the Fanless Chromebox CF40 on its website, unlike the NUC 14 Pro or NUC 14 Pro Plus, and failed to provide too many specifications.
Thankfully, ASUS has now rectified this, although it remains to be seen how much the Fanless Chromebox CF40 will cost or when it will be available. At any rate, the Fanless Chromebox replacement will combine the machine's Intel Celeron N4500 processor with the following ports:
Front
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 3x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A (5 Gbps)
Rear
- 2x antennas
- 1x DC-in
- 1x Gigabit Ethernet
- 1x Kensington lock slot
- 2x HDMI
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A (5 Gbps)
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C (5 Gbps/DisplayPort Alt Mode)
Moreover, the fanless mini-PC includes Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, a VESA mount for attaching it to an external monitor and built-in Google Play support. Additionally, the Fanless Chromebox CF40 will eventually ship with a 65 W power supply and should receive software updates into the early 2030s. Please see ASUS' website for more details.
