AYANEO AM02 release date and specifications confirmed following AYANEO AM01 shipment delays
A few months ago, AYANEO revealed the AMO1 and AM02, a pair of mini-PCs that drew inspiration from various late 80s devices. Since then, the company launched the AM01 with AMD Ryzen 3 3200U and Ryzen 7 5700U APUs with a $149 starting early bird price. For context, while the mini-PC's crowdfunding campaign ended last week, 'unforeseen delays' mean that AYANEO will be unable to fulfill many AM01 orders until early February.
By contrast, AYANEO will offer the AM02 with the Ryzen 7 7840HS, a more powerful and newer option than the APUs in the AM01. Specifically, the Ryzen 7 7840HS has an octa-core processor with Zen 4 cores that can reach 5.1 GHz and a Radeon 780M iGPU. Also, the Ryzen 7 7840HS has a higher TDP than the Ryzen 7 7840U that powers many modern gaming handhelds (34-54 W vs. 28 W), which helps deliver a 25% performance improvement in our benchmarks.
Additionally, the AM02 features a 4-inch touchscreen display, much like the UH185 Ultra that MINISFORUM showcased during CES 2024. AYANEO will begin selling the AM02 on January 18 through Indiegogo. Although pricing has not been confirmed yet, the following ports are visible from the company's product images:
