MINISFORUM EM780 global launch begins with pre-orders opening in Europe and Japan
MINISFORUM has started selling the EM780 globally, a mini-PC that it unveiled in September during Computex 2023. For context, the company began selling the EM780 last week in China for CNY 3,999 (~$561), having briefly teased the mini-PC's release on Weibo. Now, the likes of Liliputing have spotted that the same model is available in more markets, likely the start of a wider global release.
For some reason, MINISFORUM has not brought the EM780 to the US yet. Instead, the company has brought the EM780 to Europe and Japan through its E-Commerce platform. Currently, the mini-PC starts at €699 (~$762) in the Eurozone and JPY 103,980 (~$724) in Japan, both with a Ryzen 7 7840U APU and 32 GB of RAM. However, those prices reflect different SSD capacities, with 512 GB and 1 TB options offered in the Eurozone but only 1 TB in Japan.
Specifically, MINISFORUM charges €729 (~$795) for the EM780 in the Eurozone with a 1 TB SSD. In other words, the mini-PC costs significantly more in the Eurozone than in Japan despite featuring identical specifications. Please note that while the EM780 will begin shipping in the middle of January in Japan, MINISFORUM will not begin shipping European orders until the end of the month. For reference, the MINISFORUM EM780 features the following ports:
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x Clear CMOS
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 1x MicroSD card slot
- 3x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
- 2x USB4 (DisplayPort Alt Mode/Power Delivery)
