AYANEO FLIP: Company reveals more information about Nintendo DS lookalike before late January launch event
AYANEO has now presented more details about the FLIP series. To recap, the company teased last week that it would present the FLIP KB and FLIP DS on January 3. However, AYANEO has been drip-feeding information about the FLIP series for months, stretching back to June 2022.
Now, it has provided more FLIP KB and FLIP DS images as well as specification sheets for both models. Unfortunately, neither are quite complete, with AYANEO electing against revealing memory configurations yet. Instead, both gaming handhelds will feature the following hardware:
- 7-inch, 1080p, 120 Hz IPS display
- 46.2 Wh battery
- AMD Ryzen 7 (Likely 8840U and not 7840U) APU
- Hall joysticks and triggers
Additionally, the FLIP DS contains a 3.5-inch secondary display, hence the 'DS' moniker. Moreover, AYANEO has included an optical mouse sensor, an x-axis linear motor, a UHS-II MicroSD card reader and an M.2 2230 slot that supports up to PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Furthermore, the FLIP series contains an OCuLink connector (63 Gbps), plus USB4 and USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C ports. Sadly, AYANEO has not revealed crowdfunding or retail pricing yet. The same is true of a release date, with the company instead confirming the following:
The official launch event for AYANEO FLIP KB & DS will take place at the end of January, where more highlights and delivery information will be revealed.
