One-Netbook has revealed new details about the ONEXPLAYER X1, a device that the company continues to describe in promotional material as a '3-in-1 laptop'. To recap, One-Netbook unveiled the ONEXPLAYER X1 a few weeks ago with a 120 Hz display and an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor. As we have discussed separately, the ONEXPLAYER X1 also has an Oculink port for connecting its ONEXGPU eGPU that it launched late last year.
Subsequently, the company has listed the upcoming device on Indiegogo, the same crowdfunding platform through which it funded the ONEXGPU. While the listing does not provide too many specifications over One-Netbook's initial announcement, it confirms that the ONEXPLAYER X1 has a 16-core and 22-thread processor with 4.8 GHz boost clock speeds and 24 MB of Smart Cache. In other words, these specifications match those of the Core Ultra 7 155H, the mid-range option in Intel's Meteor Lake-H series.
Hence, the ONEXPLAYER X1 should surpass the CPU and GPU performance of recent AMD Ryzen-powered gaming handhelds. Nonetheless, One-Netbook has showcased the device with its Radeon RX 7600M XT-based eGPU solution. Even then, the ONEXPLAYER X1 often dips below 60 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 when tested at 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and medium graphics quality.
Still, One-Netbook has also offered a brief look at the device's iGPU gaming capabilities, videos for both of which we have embedded below. Currently, One-Netbook hopes to begin its ONEXPLAYER X1 crowdfunding campaign later this month. Unfortunately, it has not provided a specific release date yet nor how much the gaming device will cost.
