Intel’s Meteor Lake Core Ultra processors are first and foremost designed for ultrabooks with its more power-efficient design, yet they could easily cater to handheld console gamers, as well, thanks to the faster integrated Arc graphics, which is supposedly a bit faster than AMD’s Radeon 780M. Of course, the Chinese handheld console makers were waiting for the official Core Ultra release to unleash their upgraded models, and among the first portable gaming devices announced with the Core Ultra platform is the OneXPlayer X1 from One-Netbook.
From the teaser trailer posted by One-Netbook, we could immediately spot the relatively thicker profile that may suggest the OneXPlayer X1 is housing Intel’s Core Ultra-H processor with higher TDPs. Additionally, the device is advertised as a 3-in-1 laptop with a 10.95-inch screen, although the video does not show any detachable keyboard, just the tablet-like device. Some special slots can be seen on the sides, probably for detachable game pads.
The touchscreen features a 120 Hz LTPS IPS panel with 2.5K resolution, further indicating that the processor is most likely a Core Ultra-H series with 8 Xe cores in order to handle higher than 1080p resolutions. On the back, One-Netbook includes 2 stereo speakers designed by Harman.
Videocardz informs that a Discord announcement from the Chinese company confirms the addition of an OCulink port on this device, so users can connect more powerful full-size GPUs in case the Xe-LPG Arc iGPU is not enough for certain more demanding titles. No release date has been provided as of yet, as the video shows only a “Coming Soon” tagline. Apparently, One-Netbook is currently accepting beta testing applications, so the release window could be scheduled for Q1 or Q2 2024.
