AOKZOE A2: Full specifications revealed for compact gaming handheld before December 2023 release
Over six months have passed since AOKZOE stated that the A2 would be 'launching soon', its third gaming handheld after the A1 and A1 Pro. Since then, various equivalent gaming handhelds have arrived, such as the AYANEO SLIDE and GPD Win Mini. Additionally, AMD has now announced Ryzen 8040U series APUs, the successors of sorts to the Ryzen 7 7840U upon which the AOKZOE A2 is based.
AOKZOE has finally fully outlined the A2's specifications. Cutting through the marketing flourishes in its press release, it appears that AOKZOE has dropped the 800p display option that it claimed would be offered alongside a higher resolution and presumably more expensive option. Thus, the A2 will only ship with a 1200p (1,920 x 1,200) display that measures 7-inches across.
For some reason, AOKZOE has decided against providing full display details yet, as the embedded image below shows. Moreover, AOKZOE has equipped the A2 with LPDDR5X RAM clocked at 7,500 MT/s, as well as an M.2 2280 (PCIe 4.0 x4) SSD and a 48.5 Wh battery. In other words, the AOKZOE A2 mirrors the specifications of the ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY that One-Netbook released in August.
Arguably, this should come as no surprise, considering that AOKZOE is a One-Netbook affiliated company at the very least. However, the AOKZOE A2 is 69 g heavier and 7 mm than the ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY though, despite the pair's overall similarities. Currently, AOKZOE hopes to begin selling the A2 later this month, although it is unclear exactly when at this stage.
