RedMagic 9 Pro: Global pricing, pre-orders and shipment dates for ASUS ROG Phone 8 competitor
ZTE has announced the RedMagic 9 Pro globally, under two weeks after it confirmed the device's release outside China and before ASUS unveils the ROG Phone 8. To recap, the gaming smartphone debuted last month in ZTE's home market alongside the RedMagic 9 Pro Plus. While ZTE has decided against offering the latter globally, the global RedMagic 9 Pro's specifications remain unchanged from its Chinese counterpart.
Thus, the RedMagic 9 Pro reaches the Europe, the Americas and the UK with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and a 6,500 mAh battery that supports 80 W wired charging. Additionally, the gaming smartphone has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that outputs at 2,480 x 1,116 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 1,600 nits peak brightness. Moreover, the BOE Q9+ panel has a flat finish and an under-panel camera to maximise its viewable area.
Also, the RedMagic 9 Pro still boasts a 10,182 mm² vapour chamber and a 22,000 RPM fan to minimise thermal throttling when gaming; please see our launch article for more hardware details. The RedMagic 9 Pro will be available to pre-order on December 27, with open sales scheduled for January 3, 2024.
