Xiaomi Redmi 13C debuts in Europe as new budget Android smartphone for under €150
Xiaomi has now launched the Redmi 13C in Europe, roughly a month after presenting the handset. For context, the company unveiled the Redmi 13C 5G shortly thereafter, which it then unveiled in China as the Redmi 13R and is expected to offer in India as the POCO M6 5G. However, the Redmi 13C and Redmi 13C 5G are inherently different devices, despite falling within the same product series.
Specifically, the Redmi 13C appears to serve as the POCO C65's global counterpart. Thus, it combines a 6.74-inch display with a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset borrowed from the Redmi 12C (curr $124.99 on Amazon). Additionally, Xiaomi powers the 720p and 90 Hz display with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 18 W wired charging over USB Type-C.
Moreover, the Redmi 13C has a 50 MP primary camera, plus 8 MP front-facing, 2 MP macro and 0.08 MP auxiliary lenses. The new Redmi handset starts at €149.90 in Europe with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Alternatively, Xiaomi offers the device in 6 GB of RAM/128 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM/256 GB of storage configurations for €169.90 and €179.90, respectively. Currently, Xiaomi is only stocking the latter two memory configurations, though.
